Hello Fellow Challenged Athletes and ABs!

Welcome to my Website. I am Tom Swann, a full-line Invacare dealer. I live in Carlsbad, Ca., a coastal community just north of San Diego, where I enjoy riding my handcycle along the ocean - up one hill and down another - it's a great place to train.


I contracted polio at the age of two; I wear a full leg brace. About nine months ago, I was introduced to handcycling. Since that time, my whole life has changed: I became an Invacare dealer; I raced in the Manhattan Beach Criterium and the National Championship Road Race in Santa Cruz, Ca. and The Challenged Athletes Foundation 1/2 Ironman; we started the San Diego Handcycle Club. But the greatest experience was that my 30-year old son and I were able to go bicycling together for the first time.

I wish I could invite all of you to come and handcycle with me at the beach. I know that's not possible, so, wherever you are, keep cycling. If you've never handcycled - try it soon. It may change your life too!
